| Bio: Steve Begleiter's father taught him to play poker years ago, and he's played "as a social thing" ever since. A former financier from New York, Steve's always been attracted to the competitive aspect of his endeavors. While he's not a regular high stakes player, Steve has taken a shot at the Main Event before. In his own words, he "got crushed." Undaunted, he made the decision to work on his game and try it again in 2009. Ever the competitor, Steve played his way through a starting field of over 6,400 entrants to claim a spot at the 2009 WSOP Main Event final table – an impressive feat for a first cash finish in a major tournament. When the final table reconvened in November, Steve finished in 6th place for more than $1.5 million. | ||
